Markus Berndt advises global corporations as well as medium-sized companies in the areas of criminal compliance, commercial and corporate criminal law. He gained more than 20 years of experience in dealing with investigating authorities.

Markus Berndt has been a Partner at Orth Kluth since 2018. In 2006 he co-founded the law firm VBB Verjans Böttger Berndt Rechtsanwälte, which specialises in commercial and criminal tax law, and before that he had been a partner at Wessing II Verjans since 2003. Prior to that, he worked as a lawyer for commercial criminal law in Bielefeld and Düsseldorf.

Markus Berndt studied law at the University of Bielefeld, where he obtained his Doctorate in Law in 1999. In 2006 he qualified as Certified Specialist in Criminal Law (Fachanwalt für Strafrecht).
