Michael Bohne is an expert in media law, IT law, copyright law, competition law and data protection law. Michael Bohne is not admitted to the bar. He is Of Counsel and advises Orth Kluth in this function internally rather than clients directly. He joined Orth Kluth in 2011 initially as a lawyer. Since 2012 he is Of Counsel at Orth Kluth.

From 2012 to 2015, Michael Bohne has been a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg, after having held a professorship at the University for Media and Economy in Calw since 2010. Since 2015 he is Professor at the FH Dortmund.

Michael Bohne studied law at the Universities of Constance and Cardiff (UK). He received his Doctorate in Law from the University of Constance in 1998. From 1995 to 1997 he worked as a research assistant and thereafter as lecturer until 2001 at the Centre for International Economics at the University of Konstanz and at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Private Law in Hamburg. Between 2001 and 2008 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law (ITM) at the University of Münster.
