Philipp Mels advises primarily in the fields of IP/IT law, data protection law and competition law. He joined Orth Kluth in 2001 and was appointed as Partner in 2002. Prior to that, he had worked in the Düsseldorf office of formerly Andersen Luther. In addition to his practice as a lawyer, he has lectured as a visiting lecturer for copyright law at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund since 2015 and since 2017 as a visiting lecturer for IT law at the University for Design and Informatics in Düsseldorf.

Philipp Mels studied law at the Universities of Cologne and Montpellier. He received his Doctorate in Law from the University of Cologne in 2002. Philipp Mels is a Certified Specialist in Intellectual Property Rights (Fachanwalt für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz).
